TOGETHER WE CAN

Dade Family Counseling is a substance abuse and
mental health treatment center tailored to meet the
needs of our Greater Miami communities

About Us

Dade Family Counseling opened its doors in 1989 as a non-profit 503-b substance abuse treatment program focusing primarily on the greater Miami community.  In 1997, DFC partnered with NOVA Southeastern University to provide Mental Health counseling internships to their graduate students. Additional partnerships were formed and received interns from St. Thomas University, Liberty University, and other universities.

Dade Family Counseling is a family operation in many ways. Several of our therapists have been with us for many years. Our clinical staff consists of Master Level and/or Licensed Therapists, Certified Addiction professionals, and Domestic Violence counselors with numerous years of experience.

Dade Family Counseling offers comprehensive, evidence-based treatment for adults struggling with addiction and substance abuse issues. Our programs are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, and we provide support throughout the entire recovery process.

They participate in different activities, including individual therapy, group therapy, and activities designed to improve decision-making and communication skills.

Intensive Outpatient

“An intensive outpatient program is crucial for patients who complete inpatient drug rehab or partial hospitalization programming with an addiction treatment center. Patients at this level of care balance structured accountability and increased freedom to work, volunteer, and time with their sober support networks. People often have family or work commitments that prevent them from entering full-time care. Intensive Outpatient Services(IOP) allow individuals to remain in their own homes and communities, which may improve their adjustment to community life for these people, IOPs are often the best choice. They still get intensive treatment, but they can reside at home.

And unfortunately, there are over 7.1% of Latino Americans suffering from Substance abuse & mental health issues

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) reports that 91% of Hispanic Americans with a substance use disorder are unable to receive the treatment that they need at a substance abuse rehabilitation center. And those who do receive treatment do not fare as well as the rest of the population, as studies show that Hispanic Americans have poorer outcomes in substance abuse treatment programs.
